Sandwich

When you are the bearer of bad news, the classic question is should you tell good news first or bad news first? According to Communication Researchers, good news should always be told first. It gets the receiver in a positive mindset for the next piece of information. If you give bad news first, they are in a negative schema when receiving the good news. Furthermore, research has shown that the "sandwich" model is indeed effective (for the most part, not taking account individuating differences). The sandwich model is - good news, bad news, good news.

And this week, life has given me a double sandwiches

Good news: Got an interview with one of my dream jobs
Bad news: Didn't do as well as I thought
Good news: Got second rounds to 2 other great companies I want to work for
Bad news: Got rejected from a company
Good news: Became an Elite on Yelp

Guess life has taken a course on Interpersonal Communication.
