Food Obsessions

From when I was a kid until now, I have my own way of eating my favorite foods. Some people eat what they like first, some save their favorite part of the meal for last.... me? I treat it like a sandwich. When I get a meal, I eat my favorite thing first, eat everything else, then make sure its also my last bite. I want my favorite flavors to be the first that embrace my mouth and the last lingering taste after my meal is over. Also, when I like something. I love it. Love it. Love it. and then get sick of it. After an appropriate hiatus, I will love it all over again and eat it so much I get sick of it. So today, I am sharing with you the top 3 things I currently love and can't enough of.....for now.

1. Bubbies Mochi Ice Cream
 I've never been a huge fan of mochi... I'll eat it now and then. If I'm in the occassional mood, I will put a few pieces on my fro yo. That is... until I ate Bubbies Mochi Ice Cream. If Whole Foods ever questioned if their Living Social deal worked, it has to my demise. I've been back 3 times already determined to try every flavor they have. I tell you - it's not easy on the wallet. $9.99 for 8 pieces of the most amazing mochi. The rice cake is sweet, the ice cream is creamy and flavorful. The ratio of mochi to ice cream creates a perfect harmonious indulgent experience. So far I have had the Tirimisu (uh-mazing!!) and strawberry chocolate chip (to die for!). I currently have green tea in my fridge. Each time that I've been to Whole Foods, the cashier will always comment when scanning the mochi ice cream ("omg, it's soo good!" , "this is the best ice cream", etc etc). Today, the cashier said "this is so perfect for portion control!" and I responded, "well, not if you are me and eat the entire box in one sitting". Hashtag diet fail.

2. Siggis Icelandic Skyr
Lately, my breakfast consists of Siggis Icelandic Skyr with Cascadian Farm French Vanilla Granola, and various fruits from straweberries, raspberries, kiwis, and blueberries. I was looking for a healthier yogurt. I tried the greek stuff and the wateriness of Chobani freaks me out. I compared the nutrition facts between Chobani and Siggis. Siggis wins by far. There is more protein and less sugar. It has 0g of fat due to the yogurt being strained from skim milk. It's naturally sweetened with agave and honey. For this, you pay a premium of about $.70 more than Chobani at a whopping $1.99 per cup. You can rip the label off and read about the story behind skyr then recycle the paper label and plastic cup. It's thick and has the consistency of soft cheese. It's the perfect amount of tart. It comes in a variety of yummy flavors - my faves are pomegranate & passion fruit, blueberry, and good ol' plain.

3. Teavana Jasmine Phoenix Pearls Green Tea
Although I grew up drinking lots of tea, I know nothing about tea. I went to Teavana one day to get some knowledge but thanks to Teavana's upselling skills, I walked out with $70 worth of tea products. One of those products was $12 for 2oz of  Jasmine Pearls Green Tea. It worked out because now I'm completely in love with it. Green tea boasts health benefits. Studies have found that green tea (with no sugar and milk) helps with weight loss and has good antioxidants. Unlike coffee, you can drink a plentiful amount without having jitters. I especially love this Teavana green tea. The small pearls are so cute and they smell great. At first waft, it reminded me of dim sum on sundays with my parents. The green tea is refreshing with a burst of floral flavor from the jasmine.
