Warning: Spoilers Ahead

Christmas and Summer breaks are my only opportunities to really watch many movies and tv shows. I'm not a big TV watcher and I prefer watching seasons at a time instead of waiting weekly. I love movies but never really get the time to watch them during the semester. So this break I got to watch 3 movies and a whole season of Chuck! Loved it.

Yes Man! (4/5)
Jim Carrey movies tend to be a hit or miss with me but I enjoyed this one. It followed the life of Carl Allen and what happens when you open your mind and say "yes" to all the opportunities you are presented. It has a cute love story with a quirky female counterpart. One of my favorite scenes is the one where he busts out his guitar and sings Third Eye Blind - "Jumper" to save the guy from committing suicide. It was a fun movie, leaving you with laughs, and teaches you the value of having an open mind. I would definitely recommend the movie.

Seven Pounds (4/5)
The marketing for this movie was very mysterious and vague. If you are expecting a funny Will Smith movie, this isn't it. Will Smith really got to convey his full acting talent in this dramatic film. He portrayed the pain stricken character well. He helps out 7 people by giving them the gift of life in form of organ donation in honor of the 7 people he killed in a car accident. The last donation ultimately ended his life. I've read up on many reviews about how people hated the principle of the movie in that it glorified suicide. All I have to say is.... really? Come on, it's a freaking movie. Some of the best movies glorify other "sins". Ocean's 11 is glorifies scheming and stealing and there are plently movies with killings. But that's why its a MOVIE, the main concept is entertainment and that is what Seven Pounds delivers. It is interesting throughout, keeping you at the edge of your seat trying to figure out what Ben is really up to... throw in a little love story and voila - a dark, romantic, dramatic, tear-jerking production.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (3/5)
There's not much to this movie and not many surprises. It's essentially what the synopsis provides: "Tells the story of Benjamin Button, a man who starts aging backwards with bizarre consequences." It's a love story where the two meet in the middle. What you might think of and expect as the consequences of aging backwards happens. People think hes older than he really is in the beginning, he becomes more handsome, meets girl in the middle, leaves girl because didn't want girl to take care of him when he becomes a kid. Girl ends up taking care of him anyway when shes old and hes young. Nothing too spectacular and the some scenes are unneccesarily long. Something I would reccomend to see on DVD on a long boring night with lots of snacks.
